How To Get Local Business SEO Clients

So you want to get some local businesses to pay you for SEO services?

If you are taking my online training where I show you how to rank on the first page of Google for a local business, you’ll need to have access to at least one local business website to help them get ranked. Then when they are you can charge them. Here is how I would recommend going about it and a good way to get some clients.

Local Business SEO Training: GET RANKED ON THE FIRST PAGE OF GOOGLE

The first step is finding a business. Use local business directories to find a handful of businesses. Make list and plan a time to call them.

Once you get them on the phone, ask to speak with the store manager or business owner concerning a business opportunity for local businesses in the area. Here is a script you can use.

“Hey there, my name is (insert your name) and I’m calling in regards to a business opportunity for businesses in (insert their city name). May I speak to a store manager or if one of the owners is in may I speak to them?”

Usually, the person answering is an employee. In which case a manager might be in but a store owner probably not. The idea is to get escalated to the next higher up person until you get the owner or someone with authority.

They might say something like, “Sorry they aren’t in may I take a message?” In which case you give some details and wait for a phone call back. But before that, ask for a number you can reach the owner or manager at.

You say, “That’s okay, do you have a number I can reach the owner or manager at? We’re offering businesses in (location) free services to help them gain new customers and I feel the owner or manager would really like to talk with us about it.”

At this point, you get a better number to call. If they insist on not giving you a number. Leave a message. You can say, “That’s okay, please let a manager or owner know that (your name) is trying to reach them in regards to a free service we are offering only for businesses in (their location) to help them get new customers. They can give me a call back at, (insert your number).

That’s an example of how to call a business and get the right number. Now what to do when you do get ahold of an owner.

Here’s what you say.

“Thanks for taking the time to take my call.” or, “Thanks for calling me back.” My name is (insert name) and I’m offering businesses in your area a free service to help your business get discovered online by people looking for a business like yours and to ultimately help your business get new customers. If you’re interested, my service is free a d risk-free. All I need is access to your website and I will work on getting your business ranked on the first page of Google. I use SEO to get businesses just like yours on the first page for their service and location so when people are searching online for your business, your site shows up first and get’s clicks to your website. From there I can lead people to call or visit your store. How does that sound?”

The goal is to cold-call local businesses, get the number of the right person to talk to (owner or manager), and offer a free service to get them ranked.

Once you have access to their webpage, you can follow along with my online training and get their page ranked.

Once it is, you can ask them how valuable they think it is to be ranked for the search term you’ve chosen. Then upsell them and say something like this, “Now that you see you’re business is ranked for (Insert search term) how would you like to hire me to get other pages ranked? A page like this is usually $500 and I just did it for free. If you want the page to stay ranked I’m offering 50% off. To keep this ranking and even have it go up with only be $250. Then if you want more pages ranked it will be $500 per page.”
